Item Description

Intuition is one of those cards that earns its reputation every time it hits the table. Printed in Tempest — one of the most celebrated sets in Magic: The Gathering history — this Instant has been quietly warping game states since 1997. For three mana, you search your library for three cards and reveal them, then your opponent chooses one for your hand while the other two head to the graveyard. On paper it sounds like a trade-off. In practice, it is a one-card engine that rewards the builder who respects the graveyard as a second hand.

The power of Intuition lies entirely in how you construct around it. When all three cards you search for are functionally the same — or better yet, when two of them thrive in the graveyard — your opponent is left choosing between two bad options and one worse one. It has fueled combo lines in Legacy for decades, found a home in reanimator strategies, and remains a quietly fearsome tutor in Commander, where graveyard synergies run deep and card selection at instant speed is worth its weight in gold.
