Why Pokémon

The cards a generation grew up on

The Pokémon Trading Card Game reached North America in January 1999, and within a year Base Set holos were being traded on playgrounds and banned from classrooms. The shadowless first-edition Charizard from that set is still the most famous trading card of the last thirty years.

Pokémon collecting runs in eras — WotC, EX, Sun & Moon, Sword & Shield, Scarlet & Violet — each with its own chase cards and its own art style. Cards $40 and up are photographed (front) with centering and surface noted; lower-priced singles show a stock image, with photos of your card on request. Every single is priced against the live market. Sealed product is stored sealed; what you see is what ships.
