Drops, Ultimate Edition, the 30th Anniversary Countdown Kit — singles from every Secret Lair. Cards $40 and up photographed (front).
Secret Lair started in December 2019 as a week of small, themed reprint drops sold only on Wizards' own website — five or so cards, one artist or one joke each, printed to demand for a few days and then gone. It turned Magic's reprint policy inside out: instead of a card turning up in a booster, you bought exactly the cards you wanted, in art you couldn't get anywhere else.
What began as OMG Kitties! and Bitterblossom Dreams became the home of Universes Beyond — The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, Street Fighter, Fortnite, Sonic, Marvel, Warhammer — and of the collector-only variants: rainbow foils, stained-glass planeswalkers, Japanese-language borderless prints, the Ultimate Edition fetch lands. Foil Secret Lairs are known for curling, so check the shot of the back and the edges before you buy. Cards $40 and up are photographed (front); every card is priced to the live market.
Start with a familiar favorite, explore a theme, or browse by what’s included.
Counts are listings in stock — the same game can appear more than once in different packaging.
Chrome Mox, Dark Ritual, Mental Misstep, Kodama's Reach and whatever else the market has pushed past fifty dollars this week.
Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Command Tower, Cultivate, Swords, Counterspell, Rhystic Study — the cards every deck runs, in the art you actually want to look at.
Ryu, Chun-Li, Blanka, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Guile — the 2022 drop that gave the World Warriors real rules text, plus Hadoken as a Lightning Bolt.
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose and Dr. Eggman — Sega's mascot in Magic, with the Piko Piko Hammer as a Hammer of Nazahn.
Rick, Negan, Michonne, Glenn and Daryl — the 2020 drop that started Universes Beyond and the argument about it.
Eleven, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Mike, Will the Wise and Chief Hopper — the Hawkins party, statted for Commander.
Battle Bus, Supply Llama, The Cube, Boogie Bomb — Epic's island as Magic cards, each one a renamed staple.
Ghal Maraz, Ork Kommandos, Stormcast and Skaven — the Games Workshop drops, 40K and Age of Sigmar both.
Captain America's Aid, Earth's Mightiest Emblem, Wakandan Skyscraper, Ororo Borealis — Avengers and X-Men reskins on familiar spells.
Tyrannosaurs Rex as Etali, Velociraptor as Rampaging Ferocidon, Chaotic Chaotician as Laboratory Maniac — life finds a way onto the shelf.
Fezzik, Vizzini, Miracle Max and Rodents of Unusual Size. Inconceivable? It's a Pack Rat.
Lara Croft, Croft Manor as Command Tower, Storms of Yamatai, Totec's Spear as Shadowspear — the 2023 drop.
Optimus Prime as Darksteel Colossus, Megatron as Blightsteel — more than meets the eye, and both indestructible.
Nuka-Cola vending machines, Crack the Vault, Vault Boy — the wasteland in borderless foil.
Aang, Ascendant Airbender as Serra Ascendant, Huu's Reach as Kodama's Reach — the four nations, one drop.
Beholder rays, Tasha, Vecna and Drizzt — the tabletop originals, and the rainbow-foil Beholder drop.
Jace, Chandra, Liliana, Elspeth, Tezzeret and the stained-glass War of the Spark set — a planeswalker for every color.
The prismatic finish that started in Secret Lair — check the back scan for curl, then enjoy the shine.
The Secret Lairs you could only buy from a game store — the fetch lands and their company.
Thirty cards, thirty little doors, one per year of Magic — and the SLC set code that marks them.
Command Tower, Arcane Signet, Sol Ring, Fellwar Stone, Thran Dynamo and the basics — the cards that see the table every game, so they might as well be beautiful.
The Japanese-language borderless prints — same card, different alphabet, and a different collector number.
For the players who don't want the curl: the non-foil versions of the drops.
Dragons, angels, demons, slivers and a kitten that displaces — the creature types that get the best art.
Kodama's Reach. Jeska's Will. Captain America's Aid. Beholder's Death Ray. The possessive-case shelf, because we can.
Scanned and added in the last two months, priciest first.
The serious end of the shelf without the grails — check the scans, then the market.
Art upgrades for a deck you already own — under $5 each.
