Item Description

Psychic Specters is Yo-kai Watch 2 in its fullest form. Level-5's enhanced edition of the time-traveling sequel reached the West a year after Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls, and it builds on the same adventure with exclusive quests, newly added areas to explore and a fresh crop of Wicked Yo-kai to befriend.

The heart of it is the story that made Yo-kai Watch 2 so likable. Nate Adams, or Katie Forester, sets out with Whisper and Jibanyan, rides the train to new towns, and teams up with the heroic cat Yo-kai Hovernyan to travel back sixty years to an older Springdale, where the origin of the Yo-kai Watch is finally revealed. It is a warm, funny trip through the past that gives the whole series its backstory.

Exploration and collecting work just as they did before, and that is a good thing. You hunt for Yo-kai hiding around town, win them over with their favorite foods, and tap sweet spots on enemies during battle to improve your chances of befriending them. Fights revolve around a wheel of six allies with three on the front line, so you are always rotating, purifying and firing off Soultimate moves from the touch screen. The big addition is a revamped Blasters mode, a real-time co-op action game in which you play as Yo-kai and take on new bosses together, a lively change of pace from the turn-based main story.

If you are choosing a single version of Yo-kai Watch 2, this is the one that brings the most to the table. The extra quests, new areas and expanded Blasters content make Psychic Specters the most complete take on the series' finest adventure on the 3DS, and a satisfying way to experience the story of how the Yo-kai Watch began.
