Item Description
Draw three cards for three mana is a strong opening line, and Winternight Stories saves its best chapters for later. After drawing, you discard two cards unless you discard a creature card, so creature decks effectively pay one card while everyone else pays two.
That creature clause is where the fun starts. Graveyard decks happily pitch a big creature they intend to reanimate, turning the "cost" into setup. Then harmonize brings the whole spell back: for five mana you can cast it again from your graveyard, and you may tap a creature you control to reduce that cost by its power. Tap a 4-power creature and the encore costs a single blue mana for three more cards before the spell is exiled. Harmonize was the Temur mechanic of Tarkir: Dragonstorm, so the card shines in Commander decks running hefty creatures, reanimation packages and anything that wants its graveyard stocked.
This is the Tarkir: Dragonstorm borderless clan showcase printing, collector number 336, illustrated by Tomas Duchek, in non-foil. The showcase frame gives the art room to breathe across the whole card, a striking look for a spell about stories told on a long winter night.
