Item Description
The White Rabbit is forever running late, but his pocket watch makes sure your characters never are. This three-cost Amethyst item's ability, I'M LATE!, lets you exert the watch and pay 1 ink to give a chosen character Rush this turn, so they can challenge the same turn they are played.
Normally a fresh character has to wait a turn before challenging, which gives opponents a window to quest safely. The watch slams that window shut. Play a high-strength character and send it straight into an exerted questing threat, or use it to clear a key blocker before it can quest again. Because it is an item, it readies again for your next turn, giving Amethyst decks a repeatable tempo tool, and because it is inkable, an extra copy can always go into the inkwell.
The card's flavor text borrows the Mad Hatter's jab from the Alice in Wonderland tea party about the watch running two days slow. This is The First Chapter printing, collector number 68/204, a rare illustrated by Kamil Murzyn, in foil, from Lorcana's very first set.
