Before the PlayStation Store was second nature, Sony introduced new owners to its most ambitious console with a disc. Welcome to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Network is not a game but a Blu-ray presentation made to walk players through what the PS3 could do and what its online service promised, a guided tour from the system's early years.

It captures a specific moment. The PlayStation 3 was selling itself as far more than a games machine: a Blu-ray movie player at the height of the high-definition format war, a media hub for music, photos and video, and the gateway to PlayStation Network, Sony's free online service with its own digital storefront. A disc like this was the company's pitch for all of it, delivered on the very format the console was championing.

For PlayStation collectors, that makes it a neat piece of early-era context to shelve alongside the system's early games. It shows how Sony wanted the PS3 understood when it was new, before years of firmware updates reshaped the interface and before the PlayStation Store grew into the service players know today.
