Item Description
Warden of the Grove starts small and keeps getting meaner. It is a three-mana 2/2 Hydra that puts a +1/+1 counter on itself at the beginning of each of your end steps, so every turn it survives, it grows. That alone is respectable. The real hook is what it does for the rest of your team: whenever another nontoken creature enters under your control, that creature endures X, where X is the number of counters on the Warden.
Endure, a keyword introduced in Tarkir: Dragonstorm, gives you a choice each time: put X +1/+1 counters on the new creature, or create an X/X white Spirit token instead. A Warden that has sat on the battlefield for a few turns turns every creature spell into either two bodies or one much bigger threat. Anything that adds extra counters pushes the numbers higher, which makes it a strong fit for green +1/+1 counter decks in Commander and any creature-heavy build that wants each new arrival to hit harder.
This is the Tarkir: Dragonstorm borderless clan showcase printing, collector number 351, illustrated by Kevin Glint, in non-foil. The showcase frame lets the art run edge to edge, a striking look for a Hydra built to grow turn after turn.
