About this game

Iguana Entertainment's 1998 first-person shooter for the Nintendo 64, published by Acclaim, expanded the original Turok in every direction: bigger levels, nastier enemies, and an arsenal that became playground legend. Having destroyed the Chronocepter, Turok must stop the Primagen from merging Earth with the nether world, which sends you through swamps, ancient ruins, and bio-mechanical corridors full of dinosaurs and alien warriors. The weapons are the draw. The Tek Bow, the Shredder, and the Nuke are all memorable, but the Cerebral Bore, a homing drill that locks onto skulls, is the one everyone remembers. The thick distance fog, a hardware quirk, somehow adds to the mood. Split-screen multiplayer made it a late-N64 social fixture, and it remains one of the console's defining shooters.
