Item Description
Tinybones has been picking Magic's pockets since he first appeared as Tinybones, Trinket Thief in Jumpstart, and Bauble Burglar turns that petty larceny into a business model. Every time an opponent discards a card, it is exiled from their graveyard with a stash counter on it, and during your turn you may play those stashed cards yourself, spending mana of any type to cast them. Their removal spell, their best creature, even their land: once it hits the stash, it is yours to use.
At two mana for a 1/3, the little Skeleton Rogue comes down early and his 3 toughness keeps him clear of a lot of small pings. He also brings his own engine: {3}{B} and a tap makes each opponent discard a card at sorcery speed, so in a Commander pod every activation feeds the stash one card per opponent. Pair him with wheel effects that make everyone discard their hand and draw a new one, and the haul gets absurd.
This is the Foundations printing, collector number 72, a rare illustrated by Leonardo Santanna, offered here in non-foil. Foundations, released in 2024, was built as a long-lived home for core Magic cards, and this sticky-fingered skeleton brings it plenty of personality.
