Will and Rowan Kenrith first fought side by side in Battlebond, and Throne of Eldraine finally gave the twins what they had been building toward: a single planeswalker card that they share. The Royal Scions costs {1}{U}{R}, starts at 5 loyalty, and climbs to 6 the moment it lands, because both of its everyday abilities are plus abilities.

Those two pluses reflect the twins' blue and red sides. One loots, drawing a card and then discarding one, which keeps your hand sharp and feeds graveyard and spell-heavy plans. The other gives a creature +2/+0, first strike and trample until end of turn, turning a modest attacker into something that wins combat and pushes damage through. Choosing between them each turn is a real decision, and either one makes the Scions grow. Hold them long enough to reach −8 and you draw four cards, then deal damage to any target equal to the number of cards in your hand, a finisher that can take a huge bite out of an opponent or clear a key blocker.

This is the borderless Throne of Eldraine printing, collector number 272, a mythic illustrated by Howard Lyon, offered in non-foil. It makes a fun addition to blue-red Commander decks and to any binder following the Kenrith family story.
