Item Description
Few artifacts offer a deal this blunt. Once The Endstone is on the battlefield, every land you play and every spell you cast draws you a card. The catch arrives at the beginning of your end step, when your life total becomes half your starting life total, rounded up. In a 40-life Commander game, that means you finish each of your turns at 20, wherever you started.
Look closer and the clever part appears. At 35 life, The Endstone is a steep tax. At 6 life and staring down lethal, it hands you back a big chunk of life every turn. That makes it a fascinating fit for decks that pay life aggressively, since life spent below the line gets topped back up at end step, and for anything that plays lots of lands and cheap spells, the card flow is relentless. It's a seven-mana mythic from Edge of Eternities, Magic's science-fiction set, and its cosmic, fate-is-sealed flavor matches a card that literally rewrites your life total every turn.
This is the Edge of Eternities extended-art printing, collector number 353, illustrated by Ryan Pancoast, in foil.
