Item Description
Few lands capture their set's identity as neatly as Teferi's Isle. Mirage introduced phasing, Teferi's name was stamped across a string of its cards, and here the two meet: a legendary land that slips in and out of existence on its own schedule.
In play it's a land of feast and famine. It enters tapped, taps for two blue mana, and has phasing, so it alternates between being on the battlefield and phased out from one of your untap steps to the next. On the turns it's present, that double-blue burst can power out a big spell ahead of schedule; on the others, you plan around the gap. It rewards exactly the patient blue mage its flavor text describes: "The three wizards knew only that this isle held a great mystery—and that patience alone would solve it."
This is the Mirage printing, collector number 330, illustrated by Gerry Grace, in non-foil, from 1996. It's a natural piece for Teferi-themed Commander decks and a charming slice of mid-90s Magic design for collectors of the Mirage block.
