This is a loose Super Nintendo controller — the controller itself, no box or accessories included. Coolection tests every piece of hardware before it hits the shelf, and this one was functioning as expected when tested, with buttons and d-pad responding the way you'd want them to. That said, as with any vintage peripheral, performance can vary a little depending on your SNES setup and the games you're running it with. If you'd like a closer look before committing, just hit the "Request Additional Pictures" button on this page and we'll get you high-resolution photos of the exact controller in hand. Please refer to the provided photos for the exact details of the item's condition.

Item Description

Few controllers in gaming history have earned the kind of universal affection that the Super Nintendo controller has. Nintendo's design team made a leap with this one — introducing the four-color face button layout that became an industry template, pairing it with a comfortable, rounded form factor and a responsive d-pad that remains a benchmark for precision to this day. Whether you're navigating platformers, firing off Street Fighter combos, or guiding a spaceship through Mode 7 star fields, the SNES controller feels purpose-built for the job in a way that holds up completely.

It connects via the standard 7-pin SNES port and is compatible with the full Super Nintendo Entertainment System library — which means access to one of the greatest software catalogs ever assembled. Beyond the original SNES hardware, this controller also works with the Super Famicom (with the same connector), and many retro enthusiasts use original SNES controllers with modern adapters to bring that authentic feel to MiSTer setups, RetroPie builds, or the SNES Classic Mini.

There are plenty of reasons to pick one up. If you're running a SNES and your current controller is showing its age in the buttons or the d-pad, a replacement is well worth having. If you're building out a full retro gaming station and want a second controller for multiplayer sessions — Bomberman, Super Mario Kart, or NBA Jam, to name a few — this is exactly what you need. Genuine original controllers simply feel different from reproduction alternatives, and that tactile authenticity matters to a lot of players.

This one is for anyone who wants to sit down with a real SNES and play it the right way.
