Item Description

Seeing the world from three inches tall turns an ordinary house and city into a giant playground, and that is the idea at the center of Stuart Little 2 on the PlayStation. Developed by Magenta Software and published by Sony Computer Entertainment of America in 2002 alongside the film, this is a fully 3D platformer, and it is a different game entirely from the side-scrolling Stuart Little 2 released on Game Boy Advance and PC.

Stuart's adventure is spread across six stages, and each one hides six jeweled rings to hunt down. Collecting them is the key that opens the stages that follow, so exploring corners and ledges matters more than racing to the exit. Objectives are scaled to Stuart's tiny size, mixing light platforming and item collection with straightforward goals, which keeps the pace gentle and the frustration low.

That makes it a good fit for younger players who want a 3D platformer they can actually finish, and a pleasant nostalgia trip for anyone who grew up with the Stuart Little films. The Greatest Hits label is Sony's reprint line for PlayStation games that sold strongly, a sign of how many families brought Stuart home in the console's final years.

For collectors, it is a cheerful example of the movie tie-in era at the end of the PlayStation's life, when studios like Magenta were still finding fresh ways to make Sony's first console feel lively.

About the game

Stuart Little 2 is a 2002 platform video game, based on the film of the same name. This is the PlayStation 1 version; a game called "Stuart Lilttle 2" also came out on the Game Boy Advance and PC, but all three are different games. The PC and GBA games are primarily 2D side scrolling, but this game is a fully 3D platformer with 6 stages to explore and each has 6 jeweled rings to collect. The rings can be used to unlock further stages.
