Item Description
Spark Double copies the best thing you already have and quietly breaks the legend rule while it does it. You may have it enter as a copy of a creature or planeswalker you control, except it isn't legendary, so you can duplicate your commander, a legendary creature or a planeswalker without losing the original. As a creature copy it gets an extra +1/+1 counter, and as a planeswalker copy it gets an extra loyalty counter, which can put an ultimate within reach a turn sooner.
Because it enters as a copy, enters-the-battlefield abilities trigger again, so a creature that draws cards, makes tokens or removes a threat on arrival does it twice. That flexibility is why Spark Double turns up in so many blue Commander decks: in clone and blink lists it is a value engine, in commander-focused builds it doubles your strongest piece, and in planeswalker decks it is a second copy of your best walker with a head start.
It comes from War of the Spark, the set packed with planeswalkers that brought dozens of them to Ravnica at once. This is the War of the Spark printing, collector number 68, illustrated by Eric Deschamps, in non-foil.
