Item Description

Every Sonic game hands you gadgets worth getting excited about, and Turbo Gear turns that toolbox into Magic artifacts. The drop reimagines classic artifacts from across Magic's history as gear straight out of Sonic's world: Lightning Greaves becomes Power Sneakers, Swiftfoot Boots becomes Air Shoes, and the legendary Weatherlight takes flight as the Tornado, Sonic's Biplane.

The rest of the lineup is just as playful. Knuckles's Gloves and Amy's Piko Piko Hammer stand in for Reaver Cleaver and Hammer of Nazahn, Dr. Eggman's Egg Hammer takes the place of Myr Battlesphere, and an Egg Pawn rounds out the set for anyone who wants Eggman's foot soldiers on their side. Pairing Power Sneakers and Air Shoes with an Equipment-focused commander is the kind of themed upgrade that gets an instant reaction at the table, and those two pieces of haste-granting protection see play in an enormous number of decks.

Artists including Tracy Yardley, Evan Stanley, Tyler Walpole, Mike Burns, Jack Teagle and Sylvain Sarrailh give each item a bright, kinetic look that fits Sonic perfectly. Turbo Gear launched in July 2025 as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog Superdrop, and the rainbow foil finish makes these artifacts gleam the way collectibles in a Sonic stage always have.
