Item Description
Sapling Nursery turns every land you play into a 3/4 tree. Its landfall ability creates a green Treefolk creature token with reach whenever a land enters under your control, so one land a turn becomes a growing wall that can also stop fliers.
The eight-mana cost looks steep until you read affinity for Forests: it costs one less for each Forest you control, so with six Forests out it costs just two green mana. Once it lands, fetch lands, extra land drops and ramp spells each make another Treefolk, and if a board wipe is coming you can pay one generic and one green mana and exile the Nursery to give your Treefolk and Forests indestructible until end of turn.
In Commander it slots neatly into landfall, lands-matter and Treefolk decks. This is the Lorwyn Eclipsed printing, collector number 328, illustrated by Julie Benbassat, a borderless showcase foil from Magic's return to Lorwyn.
