Item Description
Raya fights hardest when the team is already bruised. Raya - Fierce Protector is a three-cost Ruby character with 3 strength, 3 willpower and 1 lore, and her DON'T CROSS ME ability gains you 1 lore for each other damaged character you have in play whenever she challenges another character.
That turns a messy board into a scoreboard. Ruby decks trade damage aggressively by nature, so after a round of challenges it is easy to have two or three wounded characters in play, and Raya converts all of them into lore on her next swing, on top of whatever your team quests for. She is inkable, too, which keeps her flexible on turns when you need the ink more than the body.
Fans of Raya and the Last Dragon will recognize Kumandra's warrior princess here, a Storyborn Hero Princess whose flavor text captures Sisu's disbelief at her plan to take on an entire army. This is the Ursula's Return printing, collector number 121/204, a Super Rare illustrated by Peter Brockhammer, in non-foil.
