Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Challenge this prince and you may regret it. Prince Eric, Expert Helmsman is a four-cost Ruby Dreamborn Hero with 2 strength, 2 willpower and a healthy 2 lore, and his SURPRISE MANEUVER turns his own banishment into a weapon: when he is banished, you may banish a chosen character.
That puts opponents in an awkward spot. Leave him alone and he quests for 2 lore a turn; send a challenger at him and you hand his controller a free removal effect the moment he falls. Because the trigger cares only that he is banished, not how, it fires whether he falls to a challenge, damage or a banish effect, and you can aim it at their biggest threat. He is uninkable, so he earns his deck slot as a threat rather than as ink, which suits Ruby's aggressive, lore-racing style.
It is a fitting ability for the sailor prince who took the wheel in The Little Mermaid's stormy finale. The card's flavor text finds Eric forced to turn back by a sudden storm before he could reach a mysterious structure at the edge of Lorcana, a nice nod to the exploration theme of Into the Inklands, the game's third set.
This is the Into the Inklands printing, collector number 121/204, a Super Rare illustrated by Randy Bishop, offered here in foil.
