Item Description
Three lore for two ink is a rate that makes Lorcana players do a double take, and Pinocchio - Star Attraction is built entirely around it. He is a 1-strength, 1-willpower Storyborn Hero with no abilities at all; his job is to arrive early and quest for 3 lore every turn he survives.
The catch is what makes him interesting. He is uninkable and fragile, so your opponent will want him gone right away, which means he either races your lore total forward or draws out a challenge or removal spell your bigger characters would otherwise face. In an Amethyst deck that can protect him or flood the board with other threats, that pressure adds up fast. The name nods to the 1940 film’s turn as Honest John flatters Pinocchio with visions of fame and steers him toward Stromboli’s puppet show, and the card’s flavor text plays on that sweet-talking promise of seeing his name in lights.
This is the Rise of the Floodborn printing, collector number 56/204, a non-foil rare illustrated by Kapik, from Lorcana’s second set.
