Item Description

The Nintendo 64 arrived in North America in 1996 and immediately changed what players expected from a home console. Nintendo's first foray into 3D polygon gaming at home, the N64 introduced a generation to fully realized three-dimensional worlds through a controller design that was unlike anything that had come before — that distinctive trident grip with its central analog stick becoming iconic almost overnight. The system's cartridge format kept load times virtually nonexistent, and the four built-in controller ports made it the undisputed king of the living room couch co-op era.

The library is the real legend here. Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, GoldenEye 007, Majora's Mask, Banjo-Kazooie, Mario Kart 64, Donkey Kong 64, Star Fox 64 — the N64 roster reads like a hall of fame of late-90s gaming. These weren't just good games for their time; many of them set design templates that the industry still follows today. Owning an N64 means having direct access to some of the most celebrated titles in the medium's history, played on the hardware they were built for.
