Item Condition

The Nintendo 2DS Scarlet Red comes as a standalone unit — no box or manual included, just the handheld itself ready to go. Coolection has tested this system and it was functioning as expected, though as with any piece of vintage Nintendo hardware, performance can vary a little depending on your setup, game cards, and charger. You can use the "Request Additional Pictures" button on this product page to request high-resolution photos of this exact unit before buying. Please refer to the provided photos for the exact details of the item's condition.

Item Description

The Nintendo 2DS is Nintendo's entry-level take on the 3DS family — a flat, slate-style handheld that strips away the clamshell hinge and glasses-free 3D effect to deliver the full Nintendo DS and 3DS game library in a sturdy, no-frills package. It plays every Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS game card ever made, giving you access to one of the deepest combined software libraries in handheld gaming history — Pokemon, Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, and hundreds more. The Scarlet Red colorway gives it a bold, eye-catching look that stands out from the standard black and white versions most people grew up with.

Because the 2DS lacks the hinged top screen of the 3DS, it's actually one of the more durable handhelds in Nintendo's lineup — there's no hinge to fatigue and no 3D slider to worry about. That makes this a surprisingly practical choice for heavy everyday use, and the single-piece wedge design fits comfortably in your hands once you settle in with it. It's compatible with a standard Nintendo 3DS charger, so powering it up is easy if you already have one in your collection.

For collectors, a Scarlet Red 2DS is a great addition to a Nintendo handheld display — it's a distinct piece of hardware with its own personality, and the red finish photographs beautifully alongside other Nintendo systems. For someone who wants a dedicated portable for their DS or 3DS library without spending big on a New 3DS XL, this is a smart, capable machine that does exactly what it promises.

Whether you're picking this up as a replacement system, a starter handheld for a younger player, or a colorful piece of Nintendo hardware history to round out your collection, the 2DS Scarlet Red delivers genuine value and a whole lot of game library with it.
