Item Condition

This New Nintendo 3DS XL in Red comes as a loose unit — the handheld itself, ready to go, without the original box or any accompanying paperwork. Coolection has fully tested this system, and it was powering on and performing as expected right out of the gate — though as with any vintage handheld, how it behaves can depend a little on your specific setup, charger, and SD card. If you'd like a closer look before committing, just hit the "Request Additional Pictures" button on this page and we'll get you high-resolution shots of the exact unit in hand. Please refer to the provided photos for the exact details of the item's condition.

Item Description

The New Nintendo 3DS XL represents the peak of Nintendo's beloved 3DS family — a refinement of an already great handheld that added a second analog nub, extra shoulder buttons (ZL and ZR), a faster processor, and improved autostereoscopic 3D that actually tracked your eyes to keep the 3D effect stable as you moved. The result was a noticeably smoother, more capable machine that made the entire 3DS library feel better to play, and it opened the door to a small but worthwhile set of games that only ran on the New 3DS hardware. It's the definitive way to experience the 3DS catalog.

The larger XL screen size makes a real difference over extended play sessions — RPGs, adventure games, and the richly detailed worlds of titles like Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate simply look better with that extra real estate. The Red colorway gives this unit a bold, head-turning look that stands apart from the more common black and white models, making it an appealing pick whether you're building a collection or just want a handsome daily player. The form factor is comfortable in adult hands in a way that smaller handhelds sometimes aren't, and battery life holds up well for a system of its generation.

Compatibility is broad — the New Nintendo 3DS XL plays the full 3DS library, the entire Nintendo DS and DSi catalog, and with a little setup it can even run Virtual Console titles from older Nintendo platforms. Whether you're picking this up as a replacement for a lost or broken unit, finally getting around to the 3DS back catalog you missed, or rounding out a Nintendo handheld collection, this system delivers.

This Red New 3DS XL is a great fit for anyone who wants the best version of the best handheld Nintendo ever made, ready to drop a game card in and go.
