Item Description

The New Nintendo 2DS XL is Nintendo's flat-folding, glasses-free-3D-free take on the 3DS family — and it's one of the smartest, most versatile handhelds Nintendo ever shipped. Launched as a streamlined alternative to the New Nintendo 3DS XL, it plays the full library of Nintendo 3DS and 2DS games right out of the gate, and with backward compatibility built in, your DS and DSi cartridge collection works here too. That's an enormous catalog spanning over a decade of Nintendo portable gaming, all in one sleek, lightweight clamshell.

The Black + Turquoise colorway gives this unit a sharp, modern look that holds up beautifully — the contrast between the matte black shell and the bright turquoise accents makes it one of the more eye-catching variants in the lineup. The large dual screens, the comfortable grip, and the satisfying hinge mechanism all feel right at home whether you're diving into a Pokemon adventure, grinding through Fire Emblem, or revisiting a classic DS title. The "New" designation also means it packs the upgraded processor that later 3DS titles were designed to take advantage of, so your experience across the library is as smooth as it gets on native hardware.

Whether you're picking this up to replace a lost or worn-out unit, to build out a complete retro handheld setup, or simply because you want the most capable version of the 3DS hardware without the 3D effect, this is a genuinely excellent choice. It's fully compatible with Amiibo via the built-in NFC reader, supports microSD storage expansion, and runs every piece of software the platform has to offer.

This one is a natural fit for the DS and 3DS collector who wants to play their entire portable Nintendo library on capable, dedicated hardware — or for anyone getting into the 3DS ecosystem for the first time.
