Item Description
Mangara's Tome is a five-mana artifact that lets you write your next several turns in advance. When it enters, you search your library for any five cards, exile them in a face-down pile, shuffle that pile, then shuffle your library. From then on, paying two lets you replace your next draw that turn with the top card of the exiled pile.
Five tutored cards in one go is a remarkable amount of selection, even if the pile is shuffled and you won't know which one comes next. Fill it with your combo pieces, your best threats or the answers your deck needs, and every draw becomes a choice between luck from the library and a guaranteed hit from the Tome. It is a delightful, unusual card for casual and Commander decks that love tutoring and building toward one big plan.
This is the Mirage printing, collector number 309, illustrated by John Bolton, in non-foil. Released in 1996, Mirage opened the Jamuraa storyline, and the Tome is named for Mangara, one of that era's notable characters, which gives it real appeal for collectors of 1990s Magic.
