Item Description
LucasArts had a remarkable run on the original Xbox, and the LucasArts Xbox Experience Volume 01 captures that moment on a single promotional disc from 2003. Rather than a full game, it is a sampler built to show off the publisher's slate, the sort of disc that turned up through promotions and retail programs to get players excited about what was coming.
The lineup reflects how broad LucasArts' catalog was at the time. Playable demos include the cartoonish fantasy strategy of Gladius, the comic sci-fi shooter Armed and Dangerous from Planet Moon, and the creature-battling Wrath Unleashed, while video features spotlight Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Star Wars: Republic Commando and the World War II flight game Secret Weapons Over Normandy. It is a snapshot of a studio confidently mixing original properties with some of the most celebrated Star Wars games ever made.
Demo discs like this are small pieces of marketing history, preserving trailers and early builds the way players first encountered them. It is a fun companion piece for collectors of LucasArts and Star Wars on Xbox, and a reminder of an era when a demo disc was how many of us met our next favorite game.
