Item Description

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth might be the most generous game Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has ever made. It sends Ichiban Kasuga, the irrepressibly optimistic hero of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, from Japan to Hawaii in search of the mother he never knew, and pairs him with Kazuma Kiryu, the series' legendary Dragon of Dojima, who is facing his own mortality. The result is a story that swings from slapstick to heartbreak and back again, often within the same scene.

The turn-based combat that Yakuza: Like a Dragon introduced gets a major upgrade. Party members can now move freely within a radius on their turn, so positioning matters: line enemies up to knock them into one another, shove a foe toward an ally for a follow-up hit, or grab a bicycle, sign or traffic cone lying nearby and turn it into a weapon. The job system returns with new classes to experiment with, and Kiryu brings the brawling swagger he built across a whole series of games into the party.

Honolulu is the largest city the studio has ever built, and it is absolutely stuffed. Sujimon battles turn the street's strangest characters into collectible monsters in a cheerful monster-catching parody, Crazy Delivery sends Ichiban racing a bike through traffic to drop off food orders, and Dondoko Island is a full island-life sim in its own right, where you clear trash, craft furniture and build up a resort for visiting guests. Kiryu's side of the story in Japan includes Memoirs of a Dragon, a reflective thread that looks back across his life and the people he has lost and kept along the way.

Critics widely ranked it among the studio's finest work. It rewards longtime Yakuza players with emotional payoffs decades in the making, yet stands up as a sprawling, goofy, big-hearted RPG for newcomers, and on PS5 the sunlit streets of Honolulu and the familiar alleys of Yokohama look sharper than ever. Few games manage to make you laugh this hard and then quietly wreck you a few hours later.
