Item Description
Kuzco has never been good at sharing, and this Super Rare from Shimmering Skies turns that selfishness into a strategy. The vain young emperor of The Emperor's New Groove arrives as a six-cost Sapphire Storyborn King with 3 strength, 5 willpower and 2 lore, and when you play him, OUTPLACEMENT lets you put a chosen item or location into its player's inkwell, facedown and exerted. It is a clean answer to the items and locations that can take over a game, with one catch worth knowing: the banished card becomes ink for whoever played it.
BY INVITE ONLY then makes him a bodyguard for everyone else. Pay 4 ink and your other characters gain Resist +1 until the start of your next turn, so every challenge and damage effect hits them for 1 less while your questers do their work. A 5-willpower body questing for 2 lore is sturdy in its own right, and because Kuzco is inkable, he can go into your own inkwell in the early turns if you need the ink more than the emperor.
This is the Shimmering Skies printing, collector number 149/204, illustrated by Carlos Ruiz, in non-foil. Firing the opposing board's best assets is a fitting move for a character who famously fired his own royal advisor.
