Item Description
Three mana buys you a planeswalker that gets stronger every time your creatures connect. Kaito, Cunning Infiltrator picks up a loyalty counter whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, so a single evasive attacker can push him well past his starting loyalty of three. His +1 makes up to one of your creatures unblockable for the turn and lets you draw a card, then discard one, which keeps your hand sharp while that unblockable hit feeds his passive. When he needs a bodyguard, the −2 creates a 2/1 blue Ninja token.
The ultimate is pure ninja-clan flavor: at nine loyalty you get an emblem that creates a 2/1 Ninja whenever any player casts a spell, opponents included, so every turn of the game becomes a recruiting drive. Blue tempo decks love a walker that rewards the exact attacks they already want to make, and Commander tables built around Ninjas, unblockable creatures or combat-damage triggers find him an easy fit.
Kaito Shizuki first arrived as a planeswalker card in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, and this version carries the ninja into Foundations, the set Wizards built as a long-running base for the game. This is the Foundations printing, collector number 44, a mythic illustrated by Evyn Fong, offered here in non-foil.
