Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Every Commander table eventually sees the moment: someone casts a sweeper, and everyone else's board is about to vanish. Heroic Intervention is the green answer. For one generic and one green mana at instant speed, every permanent you control gains hexproof and indestructible until end of turn.
Destroy effects, damage-based wipes and targeted removal all bounce off, so your creatures, lands, artifacts and enchantments survive while your opponents lose theirs. It also protects a single key piece, such as a commander or an engine creature, from a spot removal spell. Non-targeted exile and sacrifice effects still get through, but against most of what the format throws at a board, two mana held open is a powerful deterrent, and it ranks among the most-played green cards in Commander for good reason.
This is where the card began. Aether Revolt, released in 2017, told the story of Kaladesh's renegade uprising, and Ajani Goldmane's flavor text captures the card's spirit: “Wherever the strong would harm the weak, I will be there.” This is the Aether Revolt printing, collector number 109, illustrated by James Ryman, in non-foil.
