Item Description

Imagine casting two spells a turn without tapping a single land for them. That's the promise of Fires of Invention, a four-mana red enchantment that lets you cast spells with mana value less than or equal to the number of lands you control without paying their mana costs.

The catch: you can cast spells only during your turn, and no more than two spells each turn. The upside is huge anyway. Two free spells a turn means your lands stay untapped for activated abilities, equip costs and anything else that needs mana, effectively doubling what you can do. It shines in decks full of expensive, high-impact spells, and the more lands you control, the bigger the spells it can cast for free. One thing to watch: spells with X in their cost come in at X equals zero when cast this way.

Throne of Eldraine wrapped Magic in fairy tales and Arthurian legend, and this card's sense of creative chaos fits right in. This is the extended-art Throne of Eldraine printing, collector number 361, a rare illustrated by Stanton Feng, offered here in non-foil.
