Item Description

The first friend you make in Fable II is a dog, and he never leaves your side. He barks at hidden treasure, growls at trouble, cowers when you pick on villagers and learns tricks from books you find around Albion. Lionhead built a whole RPG around small bonds like that one, and the result, released on the Xbox 360 in 2008, is a fantasy adventure that cares as much about your home, your family and your reputation as it does about saving the world.

Five hundred years after the first game, Albion has moved into an age of gunpowder, so flintlock pistols and blunderbusses sit beside swords and Will magic. The story begins on the streets of Bowerstone, where a childhood tragedy at the hands of Lord Lucian sets you on a path to stop him and the ambitious Spire he is building. Theresa returns as your guide, and the journey brings you to three other Heroes: Hammer, Garth and Reaver, each representing one of the game's pillars of Strength, Will and Skill.

What made Fable II stand out was how much life it packed between quests. You can take jobs as a blacksmith, bartender or woodcutter, buy any house or shop you can afford and rent it out, court a partner of either sex, marry and raise children, and win over or terrify an entire town with expressions alone. A glowing breadcrumb trail keeps you pointed toward the next objective, and there is no game over: fall in battle and you get back up with a scar and a little lost experience, a design choice that keeps you exploring instead of reloading. The combat maps melee, ranged and magic to a single button each, easy to learn yet satisfying once you start chaining flourishes.

The game was built for drop-in cooperative play as well, letting a second player join your world as a henchman. Under Peter Molyneux's direction, Lionhead made Albion feel like a place with a sense of humor and real moral weight, and Fable II is often remembered as the high point of the series on Xbox 360. Get the dog, buy the tavern and decide who you want to be.

About the game

Fable 2 is the second game in the fable series by Lionhead Studios, it is an open world role-playing game. It has a simple story line where the hero needs to save Albion from the evil Lord Lucian by collecting together the other three heroes to defeat him. Interactive cut-scenes are a large part of the game however the main character never speaks and all dialogue is uncontrolled. The game features a large variety of game play and freedom, allowing a player to shape the world around and the characters appearance and moral standing based on decisions throughout the game. The player can also get married both same and opposite sex and bring up children to childhood but no farther, expressions are a lot more interactive with NPC's than before
