Item Description

Electro is all about storing up power and unleashing it at the worst possible moment for everyone else, and this card plays exactly like Max Dillon's crackling villainy. He's a three-mana red legendary Human Villain, a 2/3 with flying, and while he's on the battlefield you don't lose unspent red mana as steps and phases end. Every instant or sorcery you cast adds another red mana on top.

That turns your mana pool into a charging battery. Cast spells, bank the red mana, and carry it from phase to phase and turn to turn until you're ready to dump it into a huge spell or a flurry of instants. When Electro leaves the battlefield, you may pay X to have him deal X damage to target player, so an opponent's removal spell can become a lethal discharge of everything you've saved. In Commander, he's a thrilling legend for mono-red spellslinger decks that love big X spells.

This is the Marvel's Spider-Man printing, collector number 260, illustrated by Piotr Dura, in extended-art non-foil. The 2025 Universes Beyond set brought Spider-Man's heroes and rogues' gallery into Magic, and the extended-art frame gives Dura's illustration of the electric villain extra room to spark.
