Item Condition
This is the Nintendo DS Rumble Pak, brand new and factory sealed on its original retail card with the plastic blister and backing intact. Any flaw in the seal or packaging is shown in the photos. It ships carefully packed and protected.
Item Description
Before rumble was built into every controller, Nintendo found a clever use for the Game Boy Advance slot on the bottom of the original DS. The DS Rumble Pak is shaped like a GBA cartridge, slides into that second slot and adds vibration to games written to support it. It was the first DS accessory to put Slot-2 to work.
In North America it first arrived bundled with Metroid Prime Pinball, where flipper strikes and bumper hits thump through the system in your hands. Support grew well beyond pinball, with dozens of DS games built to use it, including Metroid Prime Hunters and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
It fits both the original DS and the DS Lite, though it sticks out from the Lite's slimmer body. The DSi and later models dropped the GBA slot entirely, which makes the Rumble Pak a snapshot of the early DS years, when Nintendo was still experimenting with what that extra port could do. For a DS collection, it is an official Nintendo add-on with a small but memorable place in handheld history.
