Item Description

Dragon Age: Inquisition won Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2014, and it earned the honor by going bigger in every direction. A massive explosion wipes out a peace summit between mages and templars, a glowing tear rips open the sky above it, and you stumble out of the Fade as the sole survivor, with a mark on your hand that can close the rifts spilling demons into the world. Some call you a murderer, others the Herald of Andraste, and before long you are leading a reborn Inquisition into the chaos engulfing Thedas.

For the first time in the series you can play as a horned Qunari as well as a human, elf or dwarf, choosing warrior, rogue or mage and unlocking a specialization as the story advances. The Inquisition itself becomes a character. From the war table at Haven, and later the mountain fortress of Skyhold, you dispatch missions through your advisors Cullen, Leliana and Josephine, spending power and influence to open new regions. Those regions are some of the largest BioWare had ever built, from the rolling Hinterlands and the rain-lashed Storm Coast to the deserts of the Hissing Wastes and the forests of the Emerald Graves, with high dragons roosting in the wilds as optional, punishing fights.

The companions form a superb ensemble. Cassandra and Varric return, joined by the apostate scholar Solas, the anarchic archer Sera, the Qunari mercenary Iron Bull, the Tevinter mage Dorian, the courtly enchanter Vivienne, the strange spirit-boy Cole and the Grey Warden Blackwall. Standout missions include a time-twisting trip into a nightmare future alongside Dorian and a masked ball at the Winter Palace, where Orlesian court politics matter as much as any sword. Tying it all together is Corypheus, an ancient magister with his eyes on godhood.

Built on the Frostbite engine, Inquisition launched on two console generations at once, and this PlayStation 3 release is the last Dragon Age made for the console. That makes it the capstone of a PS3 trilogy: Origins, Dragon Age II and Inquisition can all be played on the same machine, following the mage-templar conflict from its first sparks in Ferelden and Kirkwall to its reckoning here. With romances, a tactical camera for planning fights and a staggering amount of side content, it is the most expansive Dragon Age a PS3 owner can play.

About the game

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a role-playing game and the third main game in the Dragon Age series. It is set in the Thedas continent, the same fantasy world as the two previous games. It consist of two large countries: Ferelden (from Dragon Age: Origins) and Orlais, as well as the land inbetween. True to the spirit of the series the character can be customized for appearance, sex, class and race. The available races are dwarf, elf, human, and Qunari and the classes are mage, rogue, and warrior with three specializations each. To grow the Inquisition experience needs to be earned by completing quests, which allows the player to further define allegiances and pursue romances. A custom party can be defined and each member benefits from experience as it opens up access to better weapons and more abilities. Power points open up new areas and Inquisition points define the influence over the region; each new level provides a perk that benefits the entire Inquisition.
