Item Description

Donkey Kong 64 is one of the most ambitious platformers the Nintendo 64 ever saw — a massive 3D collectathon that took everything Rare had learned from Banjo-Kazooie and turned the volume all the way up. Five playable Kongs, each with their own unique abilities, instruments, and color-coded collectibles spread across enormous, densely packed worlds. The sheer scope of it was staggering in 1999, and it still impresses today. It was also notably the first game to require the Expansion Pak, which came bundled with the cart — making this cartridge a genuine piece of Nintendo 64 history.

Each Kong brings something different to the table. Donkey Kong punches through barriers, Tiny floats with her ponytail, Chunky hurls boulders, Lanky contorts through impossible spaces, and Diddy jetpacks across gaps with his guitar on his back. Swapping between them mid-world to solve environmental puzzles gives the game a layered, satisfying rhythm that rewards exploration. Cranky, Funky, and Candy Kong round out the cast as upgrade vendors, and K. Rool looms over every stage as the big bad keeping the Kong Isles in danger.

The game is legendary for a reason — "DK Rap" and all.
