Item Description
Doctor Octopus, Master Planner does not care how many cards you used this turn, because he refills your hand to eight at the end of it. Your maximum hand size becomes eight, and at the beginning of your end step, if you have fewer than eight cards in hand, you draw the difference. Dump your hand into the battlefield, pass the turn, and watch it come right back.
He is also a general for his whole rogues' gallery. Other Villains you control get +2/+2, and his own 4/8 body is sturdy enough to sit back and keep the engine running. For seven mana in blue and black he asks for patience, but a Dimir Villain deck built around him can spend freely every turn knowing a full grip is on the way, which makes him an exciting commander for players who love card advantage and a menacing board. Few Spider-Man foes are better suited to the name Master Planner.
This is the showcase printing from Magic's Marvel's Spider-Man set, collector number 228, a borderless card illustrated by Marvel comics artist Jim Cheung with Jay David Ramos and offered here in foil. The comic-book showcase treatment puts Doc Ock and his mechanical arms front and center, a natural pick for Spider-Man fans and Marvel collectors.
