Item Description

Sapphire and Steel is the planner's starter deck from Disney Lorcana's very first set. Sapphire is the color of resources and patience, with items and ramp that help you pull ahead on ink, while Steel brings muscle and a willingness to challenge anything standing in the way. Together they teach Lorcana's central tension: when to quest for lore, and when to stop a rival in its tracks.

Ravensburger launched Disney Lorcana with The First Chapter in August 2023, and its starter decks were built as the front door to the game. The basics are easy to pick up and hard to put down: ink cards face down to fuel your turns, send Glimmers out to quest, challenge the characters that threaten you, and be first to 20 lore. A ready-to-play 60-card deck lets new players skip deckbuilding and start learning those decisions immediately.

Lorcana's appeal for collectors started here too. The First Chapter's painterly, storybook artwork set the visual tone for every set that followed, and its Enchanted cards became the hobby's first big chase. A First Chapter starter makes a natural opening piece for a Lorcana collection and a ready-made way to teach a friend the game on the next game night.
