Item Description
Sometimes the board just needs to be reset. Day of Judgment does it in four words: destroy all creatures. For four mana, white gets its cleanest answer to a battlefield that has spiraled out of control, whether it is a wide token army, a pile of creatures with nasty triggers, or a single threat you cannot otherwise handle.
First printed in 2009's Zendikar as a stand-in for Wrath of God, Day of Judgment has the same impact with one small difference: it allows regeneration, which rarely comes up at a modern table. Control and midrange decks build around it, and in Commander it is a dependable way to buy back a losing game. The flavor text captures the indifference of a true wrath: "Clerics on both sides prayed for divine intervention to end the war. The gods didn't play favorites."
This is the Foundations printing, collector number 140, a foil rare illustrated by Vincent Proce. Foundations, released in 2024, was built as a long-running base set for new and returning players, and a foil copy of the classic sweeper makes an eye-catching upgrade for any white deck.
