Dance Dance Revolution with Mario is one of the more delightfully unexpected crossovers to land on the GameCube — Konami's iconic rhythm franchise meets the Mushroom Kingdom, and the result is a game that's genuinely hard to resist. Instead of the usual DDR anime pop aesthetic, the whole package gets a Nintendo makeover: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, and the rest of the crew appear throughout, and the soundtrack pulls in remixed versions of beloved Nintendo tunes alongside the energetic dance tracks the DDR series is known for. It's a marriage that shouldn't work as well as it does, and yet here we are.
