Item Description
Consult the Star Charts grows with your mana base. The two-mana blue instant looks at the top X cards of your library, where X is the number of lands you control, and puts one of them into your hand. Pay the kicker of one more generic and blue mana and you keep two instead. Everything you don't take goes to the bottom of your library in a random order.
Early in the game it is cheap selection at instant speed; late, with eight or nine lands on the table, it becomes a deep dig for exactly the answer or threat you need, and kicked it is a four-mana pick of two from a big stack. Because it is an instant, you can hold up countermagic and cast it at the end of an opponent's turn when nothing needs answering. Land-heavy Commander decks get the most out of it.
This is the Edge of Eternities printing, collector number 325, the extended-art version of Antonio José Manzanedo's illustration, offered here in foil. Edge of Eternities took Magic into full science fiction in 2025, and a card about reading the stars fits its cosmic setting perfectly.
