Item Description

Cardia cannot touch anyone. The gem set into her chest, the Horologium, fills her body with a poison that corrodes whatever her skin meets, and the people of her world have only one word for her: monster. Code: Realize begins with her living alone in an abandoned mansion outside London, waiting for a father who never returns, until a gentleman thief named Arsène Lupin crashes through her door and steals her away. What follows is a steampunk mystery set in an alternate Victorian London of airships, steam machinery and secret societies, and a romance where every relationship starts from the problem that she cannot so much as hold a hand.

The genius of the cast is that every love interest is borrowed from classic literature and reinvented. Alongside Lupin there is Abraham Van Helsing, a haunted soldier with a dark past; Victor Frankenstein, a shy prodigy who sees Cardia as a puzzle he might solve; Impey Barbicane, the irrepressible engineer lifted from Jules Verne; and the elegant, unreadable Count Saint-Germain. Each of the five routes tells a distinct story with its own revelations, and choices can lead to bad endings as well as happy ones. Running through all of them is Cardia's own arc, a young woman learning what it means to be human, which gives the story weight beyond the romance.

Bouquet of Rainbows puts two games on one PlayStation 4 disc. Guardian of Rebirth, the main story, first reached English-speaking players on the Vita in 2015, and Aksys brought it to PS4 in 2018. It is paired with Future Blessings, a fandisc that had been Japan-only, which adds After Stories for each of the five gentlemen, a side story about Lupin's gang and two brand-new paths: a romance with the detective Herlock Sholmes and a route centered on Cardia's bond with her younger brother, Finis.

Developed by Otomate, the studio behind many of the most acclaimed otome visual novels in English, Code: Realize became a cornerstone of the genre in the West, with an anime adaptation to match. Aksys issued this Limited Edition as the collector's version of the PS4 release, and it is the complete way to experience Cardia's story on one console, from first meeting to happily ever after.
