Item Description

Every death has a cost.

Chronos: Before the Ashes on the Nintendo Switch is a dark action RPG that blends methodical combat with a unique aging mechanic.

Developed by Gunfire Games and published by THQ Nordic in 2020, the game serves as a prequel to Remnant: From the Ashes and delivers a more deliberate, dungeon-crawling experience.

Players take on the role of a young hero entering a mysterious labyrinth to save their homeland. Each time you fall in battle, your character ages one year — shifting stats and gradually transforming your playstyle from agile youth to seasoned spellcaster.

Features include:

Strategic melee and ranged combat
Puzzle-solving and dungeon exploration
Character progression that changes with age
A moody, atmospheric fantasy setting

With its slower, more tactical pacing and distinctive aging system, Chronos: Before the Ashes offers a thoughtful twist on the modern action RPG formula.

As a tested loose cartridge, this is a solid addition to any Nintendo Switch collection — especially for fans of challenging fantasy adventures.

A dark, deliberate journey — where every mistake leaves a lasting mark.
