Item Description

Borderlands 2 on Xbox 360 is one of the defining co-op shooters of its generation, a loot-driven, cel-shaded rampage across the planet Pandora that managed to be funnier, bigger and more chaotic than its predecessor. Gearbox Software, with 2K Games publishing, released it in September 2012 and built on everything that made the original click: four new Vault Hunters, Axton the Commando, Maya the Siren, Salvador the Gunzerker and Zer0 the Assassin, each with three skill trees to shape, a seemingly endless variety of procedurally generated guns, and a main villain in Handsome Jack, the smug Hyperion executive who became an instant favorite among gaming antagonists.

The guns are the stars. Every manufacturer has its own personality: Jakobs weapons hit hard and fire as fast as you can pull the trigger, Tediore guns get thrown like grenades when you reload, and Maliwan specializes in elemental damage, joined by the new Slag element that makes enemies take extra punishment. Jack is a constant voice in your ear, mocking you over the radio, while returning heroes Lilith, Roland, Mordecai and Brick, the irrepressible Claptrap and the explosives-obsessed Tiny Tina give the hub city of Sanctuary a cast worth fighting for.

Built for up to four players in co-op, Borderlands 2 had the kind of magnetic pull that turned "just one more mission" into three more hours. The Xbox 360 was its home turf, and this version captures the game as so many players first experienced it: two players side by side in split-screen co-op, diving headfirst into Pandora together. Finishing the story opens True Vault Hunter Mode, a tougher second playthrough with stronger enemies and better gear, so the hunt for the perfect gun keeps going long after the credits roll.
