Bluey's whole charm is that it treats play as something serious and wonderful, and Bluey: The Videogame leans straight into that idea. Released in 2023 by Outright Games and developer Artax Games, it lets up to four players step into the roles of Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli across a brand-new story told through four interactive adventures.
The settings will be instantly familiar to any household that has the show on repeat: the Heeler house, the playground, the creek and a bonus trip to the beach, each full of collectibles that fill out a sticker book and unlock hats to dress up the family. Woven through the adventures are games lifted straight from the series, including Keepy Uppy, Ground is Lava and Magic Xylophone, along with a new one called Chattermax Chase, and a free play option lets kids explore and invent their own games once the story is done.
This is a gentle game, short and low-pressure by design, with simple controls that let a young player join in beside a parent or older sibling. Reviewers noted its brief running time, but they also agreed it captures the look and feel of the show, and families will enjoy spotting the little secrets and hidden references tucked into each location. It is best treated as an afternoon with the Heelers rather than a marathon.
On Switch it slots naturally into family game night on the TV or a quiet car-ride session in handheld mode, and it makes a sweet first video game for a little one who already plays Keepy Uppy with a balloon at home.
