Item Condition
This Black Nintendo DSi comes as the system itself — no box or original accessories included. Coolection tests every piece of hardware before it hits the shelf, and this DSi was powered up and functioning as expected, with the screens, buttons, cameras, and system menus all checked out. You're welcome to hit the "Request Additional Pictures" button on this page if you'd like high-resolution photos of this exact unit before committing to a purchase. Item Description
The DSi was the moment Nintendo's dual-screen handheld learned to take pictures, play music and download games. Building on the DS Lite, Nintendo added two cameras, an SD card slot, slightly larger 3.25-inch screens, a faster processor and more memory, all in a thinner body. To make room, it dropped the Game Boy Advance cartridge slot, a clear sign the DS family was looking ahead rather than back.
The built-in DSi Camera app played with faces and photos through a stack of silly lenses and distortions, and DSi Sound let you record your voice and warp it or play music from an SD card while fiddling with pitch and speed. The DSi also introduced the DSi Shop and DSiWare downloads; Nintendo closed that shop years ago, but it was an early step toward the digital storefronts that followed.
The real draw is the DS library, played on two screens with touch controls. That means Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, the stylus-driven chaos of The World Ends with You, courtroom showdowns in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and the Chrono Trigger DS port, plus Nintendo's own heavy hitters like New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart DS. Few handheld libraries are this deep or this varied.
In black, the DSi is understated and slim enough to disappear into a jacket pocket, ready for a quick grid of Picross DS or another puzzle in Professor Layton and the Curious Village. It is the most refined way to dig into the DS catalog on hardware built for it.
