Item Description

The Amazing Spider-Man swung onto the PlayStation 3 as a tie-in to the 2012 film reboot, but don't let the "movie game" label fool you — Beenox crafted something that stands on its own as one of the more enjoyable open-world Spider-Man experiences of its era. Set after the events of the film, the game gives you a fully explorable Manhattan to web-sling through, and that traversal system is the real star of the show. Momentum, altitude, and the satisfying snap of a web catching a skyscraper — it all comes together in a way that scratches the itch fans had been chasing since the beloved Spider-Man 2 on PS2.

Combat here takes clear inspiration from the Batman Arkham series, blending rhythm-based brawling with Peter Parker's signature acrobatic flair and Spider-Sense dodging. You'll be flipping off walls, yanking enemies into the air with webs, and chaining together moves that genuinely feel like they belong to a superhero. The web-rush mechanic adds a fast, cinematic energy to fights that keeps the action from ever feeling repetitive, even as you work through a solid roster of classic villains pulled straight from the comics.

Beyond the main story, the game is packed with side missions, collectibles, and nods to Marvel lore that reward fans who take the time to explore every corner of the city. There's a genuine affection for the source material running through every borough — comic book pages to collect, hidden characters to unlock, and enough Easter eggs to keep Spidey fans grinning throughout. The writing leans into Peter's wit and charm in a way that the film adaptation sometimes couldn't, giving you a Spider-Man who feels alive and quippy in the best possible way.

As a physical PS3 complete-in-box copy, this is a genuinely satisfying piece to own. Complete copies with both the manual and original box are increasingly harder to find in good shape, and the PS3 library occupies a sweet spot right now — old enough to carry real nostalgia, affordable enough that collectors can still build out their shelves without breaking the bank. The game was tested and played as expected, though performance can vary depending on your specific console setup, as is true of any disc-based title from this generation.

Whether you're a longtime Spider-Man fan revisiting the PS3 years, a collector rounding out your Marvel game shelf, or someone who simply missed this one the first time around, The Amazing Spider-Man is a web-slinging adventure worth picking up. It's a complete, physical piece of PlayStation 3 history with a beloved franchise at its center — hard to pass up.
