Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Before it ever hit the card table, Zoroark was the face of Generation V's mystery: the Illusion Fox Pokémon that could disguise itself as other Pokémon, and the star of the 2010 film Zoroark: Master of Illusions. Its arrival in the Black & White era of the TCG captured that trickster spirit perfectly.
This card has two attacks built around misdirection. Nasty Plot, for one Darkness Energy, searches your deck for any card and puts it into your hand, setting up exactly the piece you need. Foul Play, for two Colorless Energy, lets you choose one of the Defending Pokémon's attacks and use it as this attack, so the opponent's biggest move becomes your own for a bargain price. It is a 100 HP Stage 1 that evolves from Zorua, and that copy-your-attack trick made it one of the cleverer cards of its day.
This is Black & White Black Star Promo BW09, a holofoil promo illustrated by Naoki Saito that reprints the Zoroark from the original Black & White expansion. Released in 2011, in the first months of Generation V in the TCG, it is a neat snapshot of Unova's debut for Zoroark fans and for promo collectors working through the BW Black Star run.
