Complete in box: the cartridge, the manual and the box, all original; anything beyond that is included only if you can see it in the photos. The box and manual show light shelf and handling wear. Look over the photos for condition, packaging and details. Every cartridge's shell, label and board are checked for authenticity when it comes into the store, and it's tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.
Oracle of Ages asks you to think in two centuries at once. A path that is blocked in the present may be wide open in the past, a change made generations earlier reshapes the land you return to, and the cleverest puzzles only click when you start reading Labrynna as one world split across time. Capcom built the whole adventure around that cause and effect, and it makes Ages the brainier of the two Oracle games.
The story begins with Link arriving in Labrynna just as Veran, the Sorceress of Shadows, possesses Nayru, the Oracle of Ages, and uses her power to tamper with history. In the past, the land's people are forced to build a tower for Queen Ambi, and Veran's shadow hangs over all of it. Link must recover the eight Essences of Time from the dungeons, while the Harp of Ages learns new songs that change how time travel works, from opening portals at fixed points to letting him slip between eras almost anywhere.
It plays like classic top-down Zelda in the style of Link's Awakening, but the toolbox is full of tricks specific to Ages. The Switch Hook trades places with whatever it latches onto, the Cane of Somaria conjures blocks to stand on or weigh down switches, and the Seed Shooter ricochets seeds off walls to hit targets around corners. The Mermaid Suit opens up deep-water swimming, and between dungeons there are animal companions such as Ricky the boxing kangaroo and Moosh the flying bear, plus a collection of magic rings to hunt down and appraise.
Ages and its counterpart Oracle of Seasons were developed by Capcom under Nintendo's supervision, released together in 2001 and designed to talk to each other. Finish one and it hands you a password to begin the other as a linked game, where characters recognize you, secrets carry over and the story builds to a true final confrontation that only appears once both adventures are done. Critics ranked the pair among the best games on the Game Boy Color, and the partnership went on to produce Four Swords and The Minish Cap. Ages is the half for players who would rather outthink a dungeon than outfight it.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages is one of two Zelda titles released for the Game Boy Color, the other being Oracle of Seasons. The game retain many gameplay elements from Link's Awakening such as the graphics, audio and top-view perspective. It also features eight dungeons and a large overworld to explore like in the previous games. Oracle of Ages is said to be more puzzle-oriented than its counterpart being more action-oriented. After completing one of the two games, both can be linked to form a single linear plot with an alternate ending. Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons were often credited as being two of the top games for the Game Boy Color.
